iPad, SonyReader, and AmazonKindle in the Schulz Library!

Thanks to a generous donation from The Will and Ann Eisner Foundation Technology Initiative, a brand new iPad, SonyReader, and Kindle have joined our collection over at the Schulz Library!

Just one of the many steps that we’re taking over here toward incorporating exciting new digital platforms into our armament, these e-readers have tripled the availability of materials to our students and staff.  Each reader is equipped with the required readings for the year’s classes, as well as an assortment of other enhanced books ranging from Elephant Man comics to Sir John Tenniel’s illustrated Alice In Wonderland.

Not only are the readers handy for lounging in the library with, but they’re also available to students for checkout, and have internet surfing capabilities as well. Through the desktop on the iPad, students can easily browse the Schulz Library collection, listen to iTunes on their headphones, and visit bookmarked student websites.

The SonyReader provides a note taking section for users, a large capacity for ebooks, photos, music, and more. You can even draw on it’s screen like a wacom tablet as well!

The AmazonKindle has a full touch keypad for typing, enables browsing for new books in it by accessing WiFi, creates collections for your materials, and more.

The future is NOW, at the Schulz Library! Thanks again, to our wonderful supporters at The Will and Ann Eisner Foundation.
