Prison Island by Colleen Frakes

As difficult as being a teenager can be, Colleen Frakes ’07 spent hers moving every few years as her parents were promoted as guards and staff at various prisons. Moving and having prison guard parents can be tough enough, but then they ended up at McNeil Island in Washington state, the last prison accessible only by air and sea in the U.S. In Prison Island, Colleen Frakes reminisces about a home she can no longer return to because the prison has been shut down due to budget cuts.
