White River Junction’s darling Main Street Museum is making a brave push through a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for essential renovations to its infrastructure!
Renovations to their existing infrastructure, are estimated to cost between $5,000 – $7,000. These renovations include new wiring, safety exits, and additional electrical work to accommodate our existing lighting, movie projector, and sound system. Their aim is to accrue the funds necessary to make their stage a thing of magic and wonder in the style of a Victorian Jewel Box Theater – red velvet curtains and all!
Since its establishment in 1992, the Main Street Museum has welcomed an unimaginably diverse range of artists, musicians, filmmakers, and performers. At the moment, there is no other performance or lecture venue like it in the Upper Valley.
Because the museum caters to very small audience, it draws in acts that fly below the radar of other venues. Hobo musicians, New Orleans buskers, obscure films and young Upper Valley bands have found a welcoming home on the museum’s stage. Suffice to say, The Main Street Museum is without a doubt the center of the Upper Valley’s quirkiest and open minded communities.
But don’t take my word for it!
