
Will Eisner (1917-2005) was America’s most influential comic artist, an artist who changed comic books, created comic strips, and is recognized as the “Father of the Graphic Novel.”
Every year, The Center for Cartoon Studies and Schulz Library celebrates Will Eisner week! Join us this year for several public events:
WILL EISNER WEEK LECTURE – Thursday, March 5, 3-5pm
CCS Fellow: Sophie Yanow
Location: The Center for Cartoon Studies, Post Office building, 46 South Main Street, White River Junction, Vermont.
Free and open to the public.
In celebration of Will Eisner Week, Sophie Yanow, CCS fellow and cartoonist from Northern California whose work fluctuates between the macro and the micro, will talk about her approach to nonfiction, autobiography, and poetry in comics making. SCHULZ LIBRARY OPEN HOUSE – Friday, March 6, 5-7pm
Celebrating comics and the graphic novel at The Schulz Library

Free and open to the public.
Explore The Center for Cartoon Studies’ collection of comics and graphic novels and browse a special display of books by the legendary Will Eisner at its Schulz Library. The Schulz librarians will be offering guided tours of the library collection. Free comics for those who attend!
A special exhibit of original art from the CCS Archive will also be on display in the CCS Gallery.
